REFURBISHMENT OF SINGLE FAMILY HOUSE OF 1920 IN BARCELONA

Starting a project always has an initial moment of uncertainty, but if it is your own home, this can become even more complicated. Sometimes the interests of the architect are counterposed to those of the owners, and then is where you need to know how to make decisions. In this case, the first decision was that it had to be the same neighbourhood as where we living at the time. The house on the other side of the street, and the one described here were originally twins, built in 1920. However, over time they were each treated quite differently. The one I had to refurbish had been stripped of any modernist vestige. It had undergone a couple of extensions, in complete disrespect of its architectural heritage, disastrous from both a historical and aesthetic point of view. If you want to know more about it go to:
